(2) Hydroelectricity
Advantages:
(1) Use the potential energy held by water at high altitudes to convert kinetic energy to drive the main engine.
(2) Use guide water channels and pressure water pipes to convert the potential energy of water into kinetic energy.
(3) The favorable hydraulic location is far from the load center, the electricity distance is long, and the transportation cost is high.
(4) The efficiency of hydropower generation reaches more than 90%.
(5) The cost per unit of output power is the lowest.
(6) Power generation starts quickly, and power generation can be completed within minutes.
Disadvantages:
(1) Due to land restrictions, it is impossible to build a large capacity. The capacity of a single unit is around 300 MW.
(2) The construction period of the usine is long and the construction cost is high.
(3) Because it is located in a natural river or lake area, it is susceptible to feng shui disasters and affects other water conservation projects. Power generation is easily affected by weather conditions such as drought and rain.
(4) It is not easy to increase capacity once the factory is built.
I hope this helps!
