In terms of efficiency and cost, the advantages of gasoline engines over other prime movers are their low mass, small size and low noise, and their speed is higher than that of diesel engines. But the downside is that it is less efficient than a diesel engine. It is even less efficient than a gas turbine or a steam turbine. It is not even half as efficient as a hydraulic turbine. And it has less torque than a diesel engine. Therefore, it is widely used in places requiring portable equipment and small capacity vehicles. But when it comes to high power, it doesn't use it due to efficiency and torque issues. Another reason is that diesel is cheaper than gasoline. For the same power, less oil is used and the oil is less expensive. Of course, choose a diesel engine. But a big disadvantage of the diesel engine is that it makes too muchnoise, and due to the mechanism of the diesel engine, the mechanism of the crankshaft and connecting rod is very heavy, causing large vibrations, and the diesel engine is heavier than the gasoline engine. Not suitable for lower power levels. As for gas turbines, steam turbines and hydraulic turbines, they are all used for very high power generators.
Because their operating principles are different, their structures are different.
The gasoline is sucked into the cylinder. Diesel is forced into the cylinder; gasoline is ignited by a spark plug and diesel is compressed to a certain pressure before being ignited by compression.
These differences look similar from the outside, but from the user's point of view, they provide us with electricity. In fact, their cost is different, so the selling price should be different.
