The power plant consists of a dam, a dam flood evacuation system, a water diversion system from the right bank, a pressure regulating well and an underground power station. This power plant has an installed capacity of 2×90 MW. It is a medium-sized power station and has an underground power station with water diversion on the right bankyou. Shannipo Hydropower Station is a diversion type power station. To ensure environmentally friendly flow, the diversion tunnel is opened and connected with a pressurized steel pipe to divert water. A small 5.5 MW hydroelectric generator is installed. on the right bank about 400m behind the dam.
