Cummins generators, as a world leader in generators, are known for their excellent quality. So after purchasing a Cummins generator, how to maintain it?
Cummins Generator Engine Maintenance
(1) New engine break-in is an important factor in the maintenance of Cummins generators. When using the Cummins engine for the first time, you should pay attention to the following points: 1. The car should run at medium and low speeds before starting to avoid high-speed and heavy-load driving; be idle or run at full speed and full load for more than 5 minutes. 3. Shift gears appropriately to prevent engine strain. 4. Always observe the working condition of the oil temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge and water temperature gauge. 5. Check engine oil and coolant levels frequentlysement. 6. Trailers are not allowed and the load capacity is less than 70% of the car's rated load capacity.
(2) When servicing Cummins generator sets, special attention should be paid to starting the engine. 1. Before starting the Cummins generator set for the first time each day, check the coolant level, oil dipstick and drain the oil-water separator. 2. After starting the engine, pay attention to oil pressure changes within 15 seconds. 3. After the first start each day, the machine should be warmed up at medium to low speed for 5 minutes before starting. This should be done when the temperature is below 0°C.
(3) When servicing Cummins generator sets, special attention should be paid to stopping the engine. The engine should idle for 3 to 5 minutes before stopping, so that the oillubrication and coolant can carry heat away from the combustion chamber, bearings and friction pairs. This is especially important for supercharged and intercooled engines.
(4) Things to note when servicing Cummins generator engines. 1. Avoid running the engine continuously when the coolant is below 60°C or above 100°C, and the cause should be found as soon as possible. 2. It is prohibited to run the engine when the oil pressure is too low. 3. The engine must not run for more than 30 seconds at full throttle and maximum torque.
