In addition to stainless steel, the solar is made of glass, and even the rubber rings are food grade. Theoretically, solar power won't cause an odor, but pipes are prone to odors. It must be a pipe problem. If it is a pipe problem, it may take some time. The installed PPR solar pipes and aluminum-plastic pipes now have no odor, so the focus is on pipeline issues.
There is a peculiar smell in the hot water flowing from the tank of the flat panel solar water heater. There are four possible reasons:
First, there is a problem with the solder. of the water heater tank, causing the water tank jacket or coil to become damaged. The antifreeze has been mixed with water. The peculiar smell that appears is most likely methanol or ethanol (lower grade antifreeze). It is recommended to report it torepair as soon as possible.
Secondly, there is always a problem with the welding process, which causes the oxide scale to fall off and cause the peculiar smell of water.
Third, there is a problem with the tap water itself. Since tap water must be disinfected with sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen chloride is generated at high temperatures.
Fourth, some minerals in water break down or otherwise react at high temperatures, causing odors.
All four possibilities above exist. It is recommended to report it for repair and let the manufacturer discover the problem and fix it.
