2013 Volkswagen Lavida E A2 11, 1.4TSI engine modification. As of February 22, 2021, the mileage is 128,000 kilometers. The timing belt, alternator belt and spark plugs were replaced the other day based on instructions and expert opinion. That's 88,000 kilometers and the spark plugs were replaced once in a 4S workshop.
This time the timing belt and generator belt were replaced by the Gates Uni Tower. The spark plugs were replaced with Champion double platinum spark plugs.
Let's take a look at the new box first.

Everyone may have heardu say spark plugs, timing belts and alternator belts need to be replaced. It is estimated that few people can drive the car to replacement mileage.
Sometimes someone told me that the timing belt of the Volkswagen EA211 engine has the same lifespan as the engine and requires almost no maintenance. The service manual says it should be inspected at 90,000 kilometers and replaced at 160,000 kilometers.
Sometimes I remember someone once told me that Volkswagen's original EA211 spark plug can travel 80,000 kilometers without any problems. In principle, no replacement is necessary. I don't think I can do it. If you increase the engine speed and drive at high speeds and low speeds for ten kilometers, you will be fine.
Can these remarks be implemented? What was the result ?
I spent 1,300yuan. Once the replacement was completed, I voluntarily returned the old parts. Here I take a photo of the old parts so you can see them. Facts have proven whether to replace it, is it an IQ tax, and when can the new car be used?
Again, the old parts I have collected are absolutely guaranteed to be the ones that came with the original car when it left the factory (the spark plugs were original parts). originally replaced by the 4S workshop in Jintan, Jiangsu province, 48,000 km away. Plus, I'm definitely not a car fan. I just want the facts to save your wallet.
Come, let's take a look at the 130,000-kilometer synchronous belt.
After my observation, the old parts that were dismantled did not present any visible anomalies such as cracks, cracks, wear or breakage. Based on usage acurrent number of 128,000, managing an additional 128,000 is no problem.
Come, look at the generator belt again.
After my observation, the old parts that were dismantled did not present any visible anomalies such as cracks, cracks, wear or breakage. Based on current usage of 128,000, handling another 128,000 is no problem.
Here, look at the spark plug again. In 2017, the 4S store replaced the candles. The mileage at that time was 88 thousand kilometers. It is now 128,000 miles as of February 22, 2121. Please see photos of old parts removed:
The service manual says to replace the spark plugs every 20,000 miles. But judging by the removal of the old parts, there is absolutely no problem in driving another 40,000 kilometers with the old parts.
For these 1,300 yuan, I really paidthe IQ tax. With these facts, we can also tell our car-owning friends that they should not overmaintain their cars. According to online articles, if there is a problem it should always be replaced, but how serious is the problem with the component in question? Is the online account topped up? Should I change this or that?
Please keep your eyes open, I can responsibly say: Volkswagen original timing belt, you can drive it at will within 200,000 kilometers. With dual platinum spark plugs, even a turbocharged engine can travel 60,000 kilometers without any problems.
Don't be fooled by unscrupulous merchants, top-up merchants and unscrupulous merchants. For us, ordinary people, taking care of our wallet is the most important thing.

I'm testing the machine. This is what I doknow: Put your little finger into the high voltage box and pull the handle. If you feel an electric shock, the high voltage box is good (non-professionals can't do it). The voltage package is good, you can go to the next step: 1. The ignition intensity may not be enough. You can adjust the ignition gap of the spark plug to about 0.7mm. If that doesn't work, adjust it a little smaller, but don't touch it. 2. The engine oil level may be low or there may be a problem with the carburetor protection line (remove it, it's basically useless) 3. The insulator is broken. 4. It is also possible that when you checked the spark plug for ignition, you did not touch the spark plug housing to the aluminum housing of the generator.
If your machine has been stored too long, you can remove the spark plug, inject gasoline (1/5 of the edisposable gasoline) into the spark plug hole, install the spark plug and start it, which can basically solve the problem.
Where did you purchase the generator? Will they not provide you with service?
