Do not use an open flame to heat the fuel tank. Heating the fuel tank with an open flame will not only destroy the paint on the surface of the aircraft body, but also easily burn the plastic oil pipes, causing oil leaks. It may even explode due to the rapid expansion of gas in the fuel tank, leading to the destruction of the aircraft body and personnel losses.
Do not add cooling water at start-up. If you do not add cooling water when starting, but add cooling water after starting the diesel generator, the water tank with high temperature will suddenly encounter cold water. Cracks occur in the body and cylinder head.
Do not add engine oil from the intake pipe. Adding engine oil from the intake pipe will cause carbon deposits on the piston and ringss piston, thus reducing their lifespan.
Do not remove the air filter to absorb the fire and start. Removing the air filter to absorb the fire and start will cause impure air to enter the cylinder, valve and other moving parts, worsening the wear of these parts.
So how do you properly start a diesel generator when the temperature is low in winter? The first is to use No. 0 diesel with a low freezing point as fuel; the second is to use hot water to preheat diesel and engine oil; the third is to add hot water at about 70°C as cooling water and add it; during preheating.
