18650 batteries are different from ternary lithium batteries.
The 18650 lithium battery is a type of cylindrical lithium battery with a diameter of 18mm and a height of 65.0mm, with a rated voltage of 3.7V. In order to meet the needs of more equipment, the 18650 lithium battery was created. It is assembled based on 18650 cells in series and parallel to achieve higher voltage and longer discharge time.
Ternary polymer lithium battery refers to a lithium battery whose positive electrode material uses lithium nickel cobalt manganate (Li (NiCoMn) O2) ternary battery positive electrode material and uses a gel polymer electrolyte. As a method of transmitting ion movement, electrolytes are generally composed of solvents and lithium salts. The electrolytes of lithium secondary batteries mainly includeent of liquid electrolytes, ionic liquid electrolytes, solid polymer electrolytes and gel polymer electrolytes. Gel polymer electrolytes are composed of polymers, organic solvents and lithium salts and are produced by mixing an organic electrolyte with a solid polymer matrix. Therefore, it is commonly used in the gel state, taking into account the advantages of solid electrolytes and liquid electrolytes, since the electrolyte is limited in the polymer chain, it also has high ionic conductivity (up to at 10-3S/cm). Its biggest advantage is that the separator has high mechanical strength and the plastic film provides a large surface area. The thinner the plastic film, the higher the energy density, which allows more active material to be incorporated into the battery. In addition, its electrochemical stability is also very good and it is resistant to high temperatures.. Most high temperature batteries currently on the market use polymer electrolytes.
