BIBLIOGRAPHICAL STRIP
1. DEFINITION AND PURPOSE
The bibliographical strip is a concise summary of bibliographical reference
data; it is printed at the foot of the front page of the cover of a periodical;

2. REFERENCE DETAILS
2.1 A bibliographical strip comprises the following data in the order given:

2.2 If there is no volume number, the year (either annual series number
or in date form) is inserted.
2.3 The number of the last issue of the volume is followed by the word
“last” or an equivalent word.

3. LAYOUT
3.1 The choice of type, layout, possible framing, etc., is unrestricted.
3.2 The issue number should stand out clearly, e.g. by the use of bold type.
It may be repeated to the left of the bibliographical strip, as near as
possible to the spine.
3.3 The layout of the title heading of a periodical is not altered by the data
on the bibliographical strip. The volume and issue numbers, place
and date of publication may figure in the title heading as well as in
the bibliographical strip.
