BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 100, Crowns of Pulleys for Flat Transmission Belts,
was drawn up by Technical Commmittee ISO/TC 41, Pulleys and Belts (including Vee-
Belts), the Secretariat of which is held by the Association Française de Normalisation
(AFNOR).
It was at its third meeting, held in Stockholm, in June 1955, that the Technical Com-
mittee unanimously adopted by the delegates present the resolution on which this IS0
Recommendation is based.

At the end of the Stockholm meeting, a draft proposal was distributed to the members
of the Technical Committee. The comments formulated during this enquiry were examined
by the appropriate Working Group which met in Munich, in October 1956, and which
proposed a few modifications. A second draft proposal was then distributed to the
members of the Technical Committee and was adopted as a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
On 16 May 1957, the Draft IS0 Recommendation was distributed to all the IS0
Member Bodies and was approved, without reserve, by the following 22 (out of a total
of 38) Member Bodies:

The Draft IS0 Recommendation was then submitted by correspondence to the IS0
Council, which decided, in February 1959, to accept it as an IS0 RECOMMENDATION.

1. PURPOSE
This IS0 Recommendation lays down the shape and the approximate dimensions of
crowns of pulleys for flat transmission belts.*
