BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 224, Standard Form of Declaration of Performance of
Aircraft Electrical Equipment, was drawn up by Technical Cornmittee ISO/TC 20, Aircrafr,
the Secretariat of which is held by the British Standards Institution (B.S.I.).
Work on this question by the Technical Committee began in 1957 and led, in the
same year, to the adoption of a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
In January 1959, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 274) was circulated to all the
IS0 Member Bodies for enquiry. It was approved by the following Member Bodies:
Belgium Germany Portugal
Burma Israel Spain
Canada Italy Sweden
Czechoslovakia Japan
Switzerland
Finland Pakistan Turkey
France Poland United Kingdom
Two Member Bodies opposed the approval of the Draft:
Hungary, New Zealand.
The Draft IS0 Recommendation was then submitted by correspondence to the IS0
Council, which decided, in December 1961, to accept it as an IS0 RECOMMENDATION.
