BRIEF HISTORY
The 1SO Recommendation R 371, Tenns relnlii?g to Microcopy Apparatus, was drawn up
by Technical Committee ISO/TC 46, Doc'umcntntion, the Secretariat of which is held by the
Nederlands Instituut voor Documentatie en Registratuur (NIDER) on behalf of the Stichting
Nederlands Normalisatie-instituut ("1).
Work on this question by the Technical Committee began in 1957 and led, in 1960, to the
adoption of a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
In December 1961, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 483) was circulated to all the
IS0 Member Bodies for enquiry. It was approvcd by tlic following Member Bodies:
