The IS0 Recommendation R 109, Weaving looms - Working width, was drawn up by Technical Committee
lSO/TC 72, Textile machinery und uccessories, the Secretariat of which is held by the Awociation Suisse de Norma-
lisation (SNV).
Work on this question by the Technical Committee began in 1950 and led, in 1955, to the adoption of a
Draft IS0 Recommendation.
In September 1956, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 126) was circulated to all the IS0 Member Bodies
for enquiry and was approved by 26 Member Bodies. No Member Body opposed the approval of the Draft.
The Draft IS0 Recommendation was then submitted by correspondence to the IS0 Council which decided,
in May 1959, to accept it as an IS0 RECOMMENDATION.
