The text of ISO 11746:2020 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 34 "Food products” of
the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 11746:2022
by Technical Committee CEN/TC 338 “Cereal and cereal products” the secretariat of which is held by
AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2023, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by April 2023.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 11746:2012 and EN ISO 11746:2012/A1:2017.

This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 11746:2012), which has been technically
revised. It also incorporates the Amendment ISO 11746:2012/Amd 1:2017. The main changes compared
with the previous edition are as follows:
— the preparation of the test sample has been modified;
— a determination of length/width ratio has been added.
