April 22, 2022. The project is located in Dabancheng District, Urumqi City, with a total installed capacity of 300 MW. It is installed in three areas and has a total of 200 single 1,500 kW wind turbine units installed. After inquiries, the Sino-Kyrgyzstan 3 million kilowatt wind power project started bidding on April 22, 2022, and China-Xinjiang Goldwind Technology Co., Ltd. won the bid.
No, not anymore. Dabancheng used to be the number one in Asia. That was last century. Now China has 7 major wind power bases. Dabancheng has fallen far behind Inner Mongolia and Gansu. It’s not that the wind here is bad, it’s that wind power has been developed and there is no place to absorb so much electric energy. Xinjiang’s industry is underdeveloped and the demand for electricity is not that urgent.
