Clean energy - wind energy
Wind energy overview: Using wind power from land or sea to drive turbines.
Advantages of wind energy: rich experience in use, relatively mature industry and infrastructure development, unlimited renewable resources, and flexible project scale. Intermittent resource, not effective in all areas, interferes with radar signals, is noisy and looks bad. Wind power currently accounts for about 1% of global electricity supply. The cost of generating electricity on land is lower than offshore. The high cost of energy storage is a major hurdle. The cost is lower, 7 to 14 cents/kWh.
