The generator will not turn after a short circuit.
When the generator is suddenly short-circuited, the stator current and the corresponding armature magnetic field will suddenly change. Electromotive force and current will be induced in the excitation winding and damping winding of the rotor. The currents induced in each winding of the rotor will establish their respective magnetic field, which in turn affects the armature magnetic field. This mutual influence between the stator and rotor windings causes the reactance of the stator winding to decrease during the short circuit process, resulting in a sharp increase in the stator current.
It is impossible that the insulation level of the generator cannot withstand too much voltage. Generally, the electricity price of wind turbines (land type) is 690V. After the transformer comes out of the box, it is 35KV. The difference is too big for the generator to reach this level. The level of insulation is difficult. The coil insulation is easy to do, but it would be bad if such a large voltage is applied to the rotating collector ring of the motor. Such a generator is probably more expensive than a box-type transformer. And if you do this, you must pull the 35KV cable to the top cabin. The machine head is rotating, so it would be uncomfortable for the 35KV cable to twist around. It is estimated that it will be launched in a few days. There will definitely be other problems that will arise. Besides, the safe distance for 35KV is 1 meter. When you perform maintenance in the engine room, there is so much space to maintain this safe distance. Now China's wind turbines are basically the most cost-effective.
