This type of power generation will account for one-third in 2023.
It was announced at the 2024 National Energy Work Conference held on December 21, 2023 that from 2023 to now, renewable energy power generation has reached 3 trillion kilowatt-hours, accounting for approximately 10% of the total electricity consumption in society. One-third of the total, wind power and photovoltaic power generation has exceeded the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents in the same period, accounting for more than 15% of the total electricity consumption in society.
The National Energy Administration is accelerating the development of wind power and solar power generation, and the construction of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic bases is progressing smoothly. By the end of November 2023, the first batch of 45.16 million kilowatts has been completed and connected to the grid, and the second and third batches have been completed. More than 50 million kilowatts have been approved and construction is being started one after another to increase new energy power generation.
