In our daily work, we often encounter problems with the low pressure oil circuit of Cummins diesel engines. This is difficult to judge and resolve. I will now write down my inspection methods in daily production. The steps are as follows.
Fault phenomenon 1: A Cummins ISM diesel generator cannot start, but it can work normally when driven by the starter. . to start.
Troubleshooting 1: Turn the ignition on and off several times, but the fuel shutoff valve is not audible. Turn on the disaster switch and check that the voltage across the fuel cut-off valve is 12V, which is normal; check that the resistance of the fuel cutoff valve is 9.6Ω, which is normal.
Replace the fuel shutoff valve and troubleshoot.
Fault phenomenon 2: A Cummi diesel generatorns ISM is having difficulty starting. After the diesel generator starts, if the accelerator pedal is pressed, it will stop immediately.
Troubleshooting 2: Drag the diesel generator and use a pressure gauge to check that the fuel pump pressure is 160 kPa. If it is less than the specified value of 3, perform a complete low pressure fuel inspection. pipeline and notice that the fuel tank riser is blocked. After repairing the pipeline, the defect is eliminated.
(1) Slide the fuel pressure gauge toward the fuel pump quick connector. Drag the diesel generator and observe the fuel pressure while moving. The minimum drag fuel pressure is 172 kPa.
(2) Operating Pressure Connect a pressure gauge of appropriate range to the fuel pump quick disconnect hose joint. Start the diesel generator and run-operate it at 1,200 rpm without load. Record the fuel pressure, the minimum fuel pressure is 827 kPa.
Hint: When the measured pressure is lower than the specified value, you should check whether the fuel cut-off solenoid valve is open; whether the oil level in the fuel tank is sufficient; Lines are clogged or leaking, replace fuel pump if necessary.
