Liuchang Town is rich in natural resources. The town is located in the Liuwan Mountain area. The town government is located on small hills, long and narrow from north to south, and sloping from east to west. The peak within the territory, Kuishan Ding, is 1,118 meters above sea level and is the highest peak in the county. The main rivers are Hengling River and Dajiangkou River, with the lengths of 13 kilometers and 6 kilometers respectively. There are also Liuxiu, Daneng, Minsheng, and Dongxinshan creeks. The average annual temperature is 18-20°C, the annual rainfall is about 1,400 mm, the rainfall is abundant, the climate is mild, and the four seasons are distinct. The main natural disasters include floods, droughts, frosts and wind disasters. Before liberation, the territory was densely forested, rich in wild animals and plants, and tigers and other wild beasts were often seen. According to the "Hepu County Chronicle" of the Republic of China, in the sixth year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1880), tigers were infested in Hengling for 17 consecutive years, with more than 300 people bitten. After liberation, the original forest vegetation was destroyed, tigers and other animals have become extinct, and there are also fewer other wild animals.
The town has a total area of 225.15 square kilometers, including 230,000 acres of cultivated land, 18,000 acres of paddy fields, and 210,000 acres of forest area.
It is rich in mineral resources, with the highest content of lead and zinc. The Pubei Lead-Zinc Mine Co., Ltd. located in the town has an annual output of approximately 57 million tons of lead and zinc minerals. Economic forests are developing rapidly.
It is rich in wood, star anise, and cinnamon. The area of the star anise forest has reached 100,000 acres, with an annual output of about 5,000 tons of fresh star anise. The registered Pubei County Lvwanshan Spice Co., Ltd. sells its big red star anise far away. In major and medium-sized cities in Southeast Asia and China, Liuqiang Town has become a veritable hometown of Bajiao. In addition, sour plums, bamboo shoots, tea, rosin, etc. are also developing rapidly.
