Is hydroelectricity a new source of energy?

This energy is not new.

Water energy refers to the energy contained in the natural flow of water, mainly referring to the potential energy and kinetic energy of the water. Broad water energy resources include river water energy, tidal energy, wave energy, ocean currents and tidal energy and wave energy is often called new energies in the narrow sense of the energy of river water.

Hydraulic power is mainly used for the production of hydroelectric power. Plants that use hydropower to produce electricity are called hydroelectric power plants, also known as hydroelectric power stations.
