You can mix it in an emergency, but it is not recommended to mix it in normal times. After emergency filling, it should be replaced with a glass of water in a timely manner when conditions permit.
Ordinary water does not have the same functions as glass water. Long-term use may increase the friction between the glass surface and the wiper, causing scratches on the glass. In fact, clean water can only simply clean dust, but it does not have the ability to completely clean dirt and insect corpses attached to car windows.
Glass water contains the following functions:
1. Cleaning performance: Glass water is composed of a variety of surfactants and additives. Surfactants generally have functions such as wetting, penetrating and solubilizing, thus playing a role in cleaning and decontamination.
2. Antifreeze performance: Presence of alcohol and ethylene glycol can significantly reduce the freezing point of the liquid, thereby playing an antifreeze role and quickly dissolving frost.
3. Anti-fog performance: A monomolecular protective layer will be formed on the lens surface. This protective film prevents the formation of fog droplets, ensuring that the windshield is clear and transparent, allowing clear vision.
4. Anti-static properties: After cleaning with car window cleaner, the substances adsorbed on the glass surface can eliminate the charge on the glass surface and have anti-static properties.
5. Lubricating properties: Car windows contain ethylene glycol, which has high viscosity and can lubricate, reduce friction between the wiper and the window, and prevent scratches.
6. Anti-corrosion performance: Glass water contains a variety of corrosion inhibitors, which have no ecorrosive effect on various metals. It is absolutely safe for automotive topcoats and rubber.
