A supplemental light for succulents is helpful.
Precautions for using succulent fill light:
1. can only be used as temporary supplementary lighting and cannot completely replace sunlight.
2. Supplementary light is suitable for situations where natural light is insufficient for a short period of time (no more than 2 months every six months), such as wintering/summer/meiyu, etc. If your breeding environment does not have enough direct natural light all year round (such as indoors, east facing, west facing, north facing), then you are not suitable for raising the most sedum plants, please find another hobby.
3. Common red and blue LED lights function as diffused light and have little effect on the growth and prevention of adult succulent plants. Of course they don'twill not work if used.
4. If you want to maintain normal photosynthesis of succulent plants, high power may be further away. The maximum coverage range is a circle with the length of the lamp tube as the diameter. The usage time is 8-12 hours per day during the day and do not turn it on at night. The lifespan of the lamp is 12 months.
5. If you want your succulents to be healthy, firm, legless and colorful, you need UVB lights in addition to photosynthetic lights. The duration of use is 2 to 5 hours per day. you need to start from half an hour a day. Gradually increase exposure time, as prolonged exposure at first may cause burns. The lifespan of the lamp is 12 months.
6. For most people who need supplemental lights, you need electric fans/exhaust fans.not. Rather than dying from lack of light, your meat is more likely to die from disease and insect pests due to lack of air circulation.
How to choose accent light for succulent planting?
The lighting duration is different, the spectrum is different, and the usage scenarios are different.
Ordinary lights can only emit pure visible light and cannot emit invisible light such as ultraviolet and infrared rays like sunlight. For plants to photosynthesize, the light they need must contain ultraviolet rays. Simple lamps do not have this function.
The color of the fill light involves the spectrum and the actual light needs of the plants must be taken into account.
Is it useful to use a desk lamp to light succulents? They must take carelay in the sun at ordinary times, but they should be replaced when there is no sun
It is best for succulents to be exposed to the sun. If conditions are really not good, if this is allowed, or if succulents are grown intensively in large indoor seedbeds, red and blue LED lights are usually chosen.
Just choose a red and blue LED lamp with a power of less than 50W. When using it, the height of succulent leaves is 0.2-0.5 meters.
Fluorescent lamps and LED types of lamps are both efficient. The effect of the desk lamp is not obvious, and the desk lamp generates heat and will burn the plants if it is too close.
There are many varieties of succulent plants with different habits. Generally speaking, there is no need to supplement the light. The tissue cells of succulent plants are thick and slow to dissipate heat. Exposure to sunlight in summer causes sunburn on the leaves very easily. In other seasons, sufficient sunlight will help plants grow (there are many plants that need shade, such as 12-volume and other green and transparent ones, so be careful of sunburn). In fact, the sun is present on cloudy days, but it is weaker than on sunny days. You can safely place the plants outdoors.
