The current size of thermal power plants is generally above 1,000 MW.
As thermal power plants are now required to install large capacity production units of more than 600 MW (except heating units), the power plant must have at least two units , which will exceed 1,000 MW.
The reason for installing large units is that the unit capacity of the power generation equipment has increased, the economic performance of the unit is good, the coal consumption and the power consumption rate of the power plant is low, energy saving and environmental protection, and the power system capacity and power transmission and transformation capabilities are larger than before. With increasing amplitude, large units are more suitable for transmitting electrical energy at high voltage and over long distances.
The number of units installed must take into account factors such as the transmission capacity and safety of the power plant itself. It is usually larger than two units and can be installed in stages.
