On April 1st, my classmates and I went for a spring outing to Hedi Yinhu Lake. I've long heard from others that the reservoir is beautiful, but when I went there I couldn't help but be a little disappointed. Although it is not comparable to the "Shuilian Cave" in "Journey to the West", it is certainly a good place to walk around and relax.
The weather that day was better than the previous two days. Our guide told us that the reason we came to this place for a spring outing was to learn the spirit of the Long March. Our guide was very funny. He was so old and he even asked us to call him “brother” like a flirtatious person. But he spoke very funny, and because he was very funny, the spring outing I found boringsuddenly became very happy. We visited almost the entire reservoir, but we couldn't go where there were people living there. I still remember that when we were crossing a bridge made of stone slabs over the turbulent water, our hearts were beating very fast and we were walking very slowly, as if if I walked any faster the bridge would collapse. Although some people complained that there wasn't much to play there, I knew their mood had been carried away by the scenery of the reservoir and they had forgotten all the unpleasant things in their heart. As I have more free time, I can go for a walk with my close friends and talk about the little girl's secrets, I am so happy.
This spring outing made me feel the immensity of the homeland and the trials of the Long March of the Red Army. Because after taking the train to Hechuan Station, we still have to maleave for 30 minutes. Many of our classmates said they were very tired. The distance we covered is less than one percent of the Long March. One can imagine how difficult the Long March was. But I didn't feel tired, because the Red Army never even cried from fatigue during the Long March. And since the guide made me laugh, I no longer felt tired.
I really benefited from this spring outing. I really hope I can see these two very fun “tour guide brothers” again the next time I go out in the spring.
